 Recovery on Fire

We offer the following trainings that can be utilized separately or grouped together. All of our training options are customizable to suit your requirements. Give us a call and we will configure a program for you or just contract us to train your group on one of our many offerings.

Cultural Competency

Cultural Competency training is designed to create a space where your organization can identify pathways and methodology for facilitating change. This training will assist us with identifying prejudices, impicit and explicit biases, the impact of stereotypes, microagressions and the role of expectations, the impacts of poverty and privilege. This information is foundational for systems and personal change. By improving the cultural competency of your organization, you create a better recovery experience for the people we serve and employ.

Appreciative Inquiry

Appreciative Inquiry training is an introduction to an exciting philosophy for change that is based on the assumption that in every organization and person, something works, and change can be managed through the identification of ‘What is Right with You vs. What is Wrong with You’.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is designed to give a foundational understanding of ‘how’ to execute the principles of motivational interviewing and ‘why’. The following topics are addressed; express empathy through reflective listening, develop discrepancy between clients goals or values and their current behavior, avoid argument and direct confrontation, adjust to client resistance rather than opposing it directly, and support self-efficacy and optimism.

WRAP Plan Development

WRAP Plan Development training is designed to assist your staff and the people that you serve with developing strategies and proficiency for the delivery of the Wellness Recovery Action Plan.

Engagement Strategies

Engagement Strategies training is designed to create a dialogue with staff and persons around the importance of engagement and to develop strategies to better execute engagement in different situations and with different populations.

Education to Support Certification for Persons Lived Experience

This training is designed to give agencies as well as individuals information about the importance and the pathways to achieve certifications for persons with lived experiences and some of the applications for these certifications, which include; Certified Peer Specialist for Mental Health, Certified Peer Specialist for Addictive Disease, Certified Peer Specialist for Parents, Certified Peer Specialist for Youth, Certified Peer Specialist for Forensics, and Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner.

“Recovery on Fire is designed to communicate with the whole person as a person, not as an offender, not as a client, not as a case study, not as a participant, but simply as a person.”  – Bill Carruthers
